Being Easter People
Happy New Year! Possibilities abound as we enter a new year living and working together for the Glory of God. I hope your holidays were merry and bright. Every year it seems God is moving us forward as He builds His Kingdom here on Earth. As we move forward, I am reminded of Jesus on Easter as He encounters the Apostles, "Fear Not!" He instructs them and us. Consider the radical nature of the Resurrection in the eyes of the Apostles! Jesus knows that change is difficult for humans. Resurrection was a change no one saw coming. Today we may take the reality of Easter for granted, but it had to be quite upsetting for those early believers as they encountered a resurrected and living Jesus!
Being Easter people we live in the promise of the empty tomb. Death, hell, sin and the devil will not win! The reality of salvation does not remove the temptation that the world provides in great measure. In our weakness, however, is the strength of Jesus. He turns our lives into an unfolding witness to the power of resurrection to all who we meet.
I am looking forward to this year. As the years progress, I find my work is becoming more and more special to me. I enjoy the work. Preaching and teaching the Good News of Jesus is a blessing to me. I am also blessed by two amazing assistants in SAMS Jeannine and Clione. Together we will continue the path that God has set us on and as we walked together with all of you please know how grateful I am for your prayers, support and love. I am so proud to be your pastor.
Peace,
Pastor Bob
